This vintage aeroplane was 3D modeled for use in the Qantas 2020 in-flight safety video “A Century of Safety” which offers a glimpse into how air travel has changed over the past 100 years.

The De Havilland Express (DH86) was a four-engined passenger aircraft manufactured by the De Havilland Aircraft Company between 1934 and 1937.

With no existing 3D models or technical drawings of the aircraft available, I created this replica model as accurately as possible using only a couple of old reference images and sketches.
